K A T T Ú
Kattú (Kattalin) Mitxelena Newiger studied BA theater and educational sciences in Mainz and La Réunion, France as well as MA performance studies, dance and choreography in Hamburg and Bilbao, Spain. As a dancer Kattú explores the human body in its somatic experience of utopian-futuristic configurations.
Since 2021, dey has been exploring sinking to a beat as a radical practice of deceleration in artistic mediation formats and productions. Kattú’s works are characterized by gentle welcome, live mixed basses and whimsical forms of locomotion.
As a multimedia artist, Kattú works with the b/w*itch collective on queer-feminist soft spaces and forms of wandering.
